We have 660 MW supercritical Tangential firing boiler with SH/RH dampers provided in back pass to control SH/RH temp . Dampers are not effective as tilting burners to control steam temperatures. Plant Condition: Our coal quality is not constant for longer time due to firing of coal from various sources and is varying constantly. Coal to MW ratio variation is in the range of 0.56 to 0.7 (SCC). (day to day)
Our Problem: We are facing a problem of MS/RH Left/Right temperature deviation at boiler outlet and more spray in RH due to which Heat Rate loss is our major concern. Boiler metal temp is restricted to 585 degC to avoid exfoliation as experienced earlier in our units. Currently We are working on a project ...MS/RH temp deviation minimization and RH spary reduction. We are planning to conduct following exercise to improve present scenario--- 1. Finding best mill combination ( by analysis old data) 2. SADC defects rectification ( local /DCS matching) 3. Conducting DAVT of all 8 No's of mills and balancing dirty air velocity in all four corners in the range of 5%. 4. Planning to put high temp furnace probes in the furnace zone ( to get the indication of flue gas temp distribution, but it will take long time to implement) 5. We are conducting furnace temp mapping to get idea of temp distribution in furnace area but not possible to conduct it frequently....( as load, coal, mill combination variation completely change furnace temp distribution) My question is : Apart from above can you suggest some tips ,how we can go to conduct our project trials in the right direction to get desired results. | Post |

We have ESP in Biomass (mustard crop residue) fired boilers. But the efficiency is not good. Any body having solution or experience in such field , kindly share .
