One of the biggest performance challenges in a coal fired boiler is the frequently changing coal quality and characteristics. To optimize performance, one needs to frequently adjust the combustion parameters as the fuel characteristics changes. But, there is practically no feedback to the operation floor regarding the real time coal quality. By the time we get the analysis report from the CHP, the coal quality may have changed drastically, which leaves no option to the operation personnel other than operating blindly.

This can dramatically change if we can get a continuous feedback of the elemental analysis of coal as fired. This can be particularly helpful when we blend coal.
